Pledges are gifts that are paid over time. To make a pledge, give online or call us at 406-243-2593 or 800-443-2593.

If you are a UM faculty or staff member or retiree, learn more about the Faculty and Staff Giving Campaign.  You determine the amount of your pledge, where your gift goes, the frequency of payments and length of pay period. The Foundation will send a pledge reminder each time a payment is due.

To learn more about where to direct your pledge, contact a Development Team in the school, college or program which you are interested in supporting.

Gifts in honor or in memory

There are many ways to create a legacy for loved ones at UM.

  • Create a named fund
You can name a scholarship, endowed faculty positions or even a campus space or facility in their honor.
  • Host a fundraiser
Many people choose to host a fundraising event in memory of a friend or family member. In these cases, please contact the Foundation to make sure you have all the necessary tools and information to be successful. We can provide personalized fundraising websites, credit card machines for events and tax receipts to ensure everyone who gives to the cause receives proper tax deductions.

Learn about planned giving and other ways to give

Planned giving involves providing for a future gift to support the University of Montana through your financial and/or estate plan. Giving in this way is easy to do and may offer additional benefits such as tax savings. The UM Foundation Office of Planned Giving is available as a resource to help get you started.
