Year-End Giving Guidelines
Are you interested in making a charitable gift to the UM Foundation before the end of the calendar year? The following information will help you make a year-end gift that meets the IRS guidelines for a 2023 tax deduction.
Please be aware that Friday, December 29, 2023, is the last business day of the year. Most contributions must be received by the UM Foundation before 5 p.m. MST that day to be eligible for a 2023 tax deduction.
Checks and Cash
Must be postmarked by Friday, December 30, 2023. Please mail checks to:

Gifts must be submitted online prior to midnight, December 31, 2023. Gifts can be made here: Supportum.org/Give. The UM Foundation can take credit card numbers over the phone until close of business on Friday, December 29, 2023. Call 800-443-2593 or 406-243-2593.
Must be received at the UM Foundation by 5 p.m. MST Friday, December 29, 2023. For wiring information contact Lynanne Hawthorne.
As it can take some time to process transfers of securities (especially shares of mutual funds), we strongly suggest initiating the transfer with your financial advisor by Friday, December 15, 2023. Please contact Nancy Randazzo to facilitate the transfer to the UM Foundation. Gifts of securities cannot be used for priority seating or memberships. They must be 100% charitable.
Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD) from an IRA
As it can take some time to process distributions from IRAs, we strongly suggest initiating transfers by Friday, December 15, 2023. Please include with your QCD gift detailed instructions regarding how you would like your gift to be used. If this cannot be accommodated by the bank, please email Shain Wolstein. QCD gifts cannot be used for priority seating or memberships. They must be 100% charitable.
